Hobby has been the world’s leading caravan manufacturer for a few years now. The key selling point responsible for the pleasing numbers of vehicles sold is their impressive quality. Our engineers set the standards for the entire market time and time again with their innovative, detailed solutions.
They benefit from Hobby’s extensive experience acquired from over 40 years in producing caravans and motorhomes to the highest of standards: caravans have been produced in Fockbek near Rendsburg, Germany, since 1967. The 5,000th vehicle was completed five years later and caravan number 25,000 left the production line as early as 1976.
This success continued at a rapid pace during the 1980s: the Fockbek caravan hub became the market leader in Germany and other European countries in 1983; we launched our first semi-integrated motorhome, the Hobby 600, a year later and we celebrated the production of the 100,000th caravan in 1985.
A new customer service centre, the acquisition of Xaver Fendt GmbH, the launch of the all-inclusive standard fittings range and the model series Excellent, Elegance and Exclusive were all milestones for Hobby during the 1990s.
With a new factory for motorhome production and further modernised production technology for caravan production, Hobby is now optimally equipped for future innovations, too.
