To celebrate the 50th birthday of his Hobby Caravan Factory, company founder and owner Harald Striewski sent out invitations to the big anniversary event. Striewski used the event to express his thanks to his 1,100 employees and their families – and all Hobby enthusiasts were welcome as well.
Around 40,000 guests joined in the celebrations at the big street party on and at the company premises in Fockbek. The Harald-Striewski-Straße was transformed into a colourful fairground with open air stages, rides, snack stands and activity areas for fun and games. Even the production hall was used for the celebrations and had a large show stage for the day.

Top quality entertainment
Lots of well-known musicians provided good music and a great atmosphere. The duo Klaus & Klaus, the Godewind Band, DJ Ötzi-Double Kay Christiansen and the Ralf Dreesen Band encouraged people to sing along and join in the dancing. Even the weather was great. A blue sky and glorious sunshine topped off the event. All the guests, both young and old, were absolutely delighted. Many spent a fantastic day there with their whole family.
Nice surprise for Harald Striewski
The staff at Hobby had brought along an impressive gift. Works Council Chairman Andreas Fleckenstein thanked Striewski on behalf of everyone for the wonderful party. He presented the company founder with a huge, framed photo of the entire Hobby team. There was also a book containing group photos of all the departments at their respective places of work.
The local authorities in Fockbek also had a big surprise up their sleeve: Mayor Holger Diehr and citizens’ spokesperson Werner Stave made Harald Striewski an honorary citizen of the Fockbek municipality. This great honour is in recognition of Striewski’s entrepreneurial achievements, his loyalty to Fockbek and his social commitment.
Dazzling night sky over Fockbek
The highlight of the fantastic anniversary celebrations was a top-class, 20-minute laser show. Lighting artists and pyrotechnicians got spectacular colour compositions to dance across the skies in time with the music. The show ended with a very special highlight above the main stage: the anniversary logo “50 years of Hobby” was lit up in large, blazing letters.
