Hobby-Wohnwagenwerk GmbH is committed to ensuring its digital services are accessible in accordance with the requirements of the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG). The basis for these measures is the technical standard EN 301 549 in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 – Conformance Level AA. We regularly review our website with regard to accessibility and update this statement as required.
This accessibility statement applies to the website www.hobby-caravan.de.
Compliance status
At present, the website only partially meets the requirements of EN 301 549 (and WCAG 2.1 – Level AA).
Accessibility limitations
The following content is not yet completely accessible:
Alt attributes (images): On some pages of our website, images are published without alternative text (ALT attributes). This means users with screen readers or other assistive technologies do not receive a description of the image content, making the site harder to use or leaving certain information inaccessible. This issue stems from the manual maintenance of older content.
Planned measures: The affected images are being gradually revised and provided with appropriate alternative text. New content is already being created to meet the required accessibility standards.
Automatically generated PDF documents: Our website provides automatically generated PDF documents (e.g. product comparisons, price lists and vehicle configurations). Currently, these PDF files are not compliant with the accessibility requirements set out in EN 301 549 or the PDF/UA standards. The documents are created via an automated system that currently does not support accessible output. Switching to a compliant solution would require fundamental changes to the system architecture and involve significant development effort.
Planned measures: We are currently assessing the technical feasibility and the effort involved in generating accessible PDF documents In the longer term, a transition to accessible output formats is planned.
“Fahrzeugbörse” service: Our German-language website includes the external CARAVANA Fahrzeugbörse service, which is embedded as a module. This service does not currently meet the accessibility requirements of EN 301 549 or WCAG 2.1. Users of assistive technologies (e. g.screen readers, keyboard navigation) may find this service only partially usable – or not usable at all – due to the absence of features such as keyboard navigation, enhanced contrast or alternative text. This is because the design, programming and accessibility of the service are the sole responsibility of the third-party provider, CARAVANA. We have no direct control over its technical implementation.
Planned measures: We are in contact with the provider regarding sustainable improvements to increase accessibility. Full accessibility, however, can only be ensured once the provider makes the necessary adjustments.
We are working to remove existing barriers as quickly as possible.
